The challenge

Fidum are a successful and growing company. Like most businesses, they found that growth comes with a new set of challenges, so they were looking for ways to underpin their success. Key objectives were to strengthen their brand credibility, and ensure the business model supported short and long-term goals.

After much consideration, ISO 9001 was their chosen route.

Quality was already central to how the business operated, but they needed the type of structured management system ISO 9001 brings. A system that clearly demonstrates consistency, professionalism, and continual improvement, without over-engineering or disrupting day-to-day work.

The aim was not just to gain certification, but to embed a system that genuinely supports how the business works.

A look at the process of implementing the standard quickly helped them decide that having an expert consultant to help would be the best way to advance. They approached Meggan, had a conversation and liked what they heard.

Our approach

The ISO 9001 framework was then shaped around Fidum’s existing processes, rather than forcing the business to fit a generic template. Meggan worked with the team in a calm, structured, and supportive way, guiding them step by step through requirements, documentation, and implementation.

The solution

Over a three-month period, Meggan helped Fidum to:

  • design and implement a proportionate ISO 9001 Quality Management System
  • clarify processes, responsibilities, and controls
  • embed quality objectives aligned with business growth
  • prepare confidently for certification assessment

The focus throughout was on creating a management system that was clear, practical, and built confidence about its effectiveness in the team. It was essential to ensure the system felt useful and relevant, not bureaucratic and cumbersome.

The outcome

Fidum successfully achieved ISO 9001 certification, strengthening their market position and providing a solid foundation for future growth. Just as importantly, the business gained a management system that supports consistency, decision-making, and continual improvement. It is so much more than a ‘tick-box’ exercise.
